For Patients

Doctors who make house calls have more recently taken a national spotlight. As our healthcare system evolves, becoming more "patient focused" takes a higher priority. Mobile Doctors has outlined below some frequently asked questions to help patients and family members learn more about our services and advantages.

  1. What type of physicians do you have?
We hire or associate ourselves with only quality driven physicians who maintain a high level of credentialing.

  2. Can I stay with my regular physician?
Certainly. In this case, Mobile Doctors becomes a consultant physician who would be happy to confer with your regular doctor in order to coordinate your care at home.

  3. Do I have to be homebound in order to have a house call?
No. Anyone may have a house call as long as his or her insurance will cover a house call or pay privately. You may use a house call for convenience or as a necessity.

  4. Will I have to use one of your hospitals?
In each market that Mobile Doctors is in, we have physicians who are on staff at area hospitals. Though we would like our patients to use one of our hospitals for the sake of continuity of care, we do not require patients to use hospitals we are on staff at. In these cases, we will arrange for hospital transit and admission to the best of our ability and follow up with physicians who treated the patient to obtain records of care. We will also follow up with family members to be sure that everyone knows what happened while the patient was in the hospital.

  5. How long does it take to schedule an appointment?
Mobile Doctors is usually able to schedule appointments in a day or two within the coverage area of each office, sometimes even sooner.

  6. What does a physical examination include?
You can be assured of a comprehensive examination of not only the patient, but the surroundings as well. This includes diagnostic testing as available and necessary. Mobile Doctors is committed to not only healing the patient, but making sure we address the root of the problem. Many tests that were once only available in an office can now come to your living room such as blood work, EKGs, and X-rays. We work with the family and other agencies to make sure that a patient is cared for to the fullest extent of help available.

  7. Can you get me a visiting nurse or medical equipment?
Yes. Medicare and other insurances provide coverage for such services as a visiting nurse and medical equipment. Mobile Doctors allies itself with several area agencies in each market to provide a comprehensive range of services to patients as a need arises. We not only make referrals to these agencies, but we accept many referrals from them also.

  8. What about medications?
Mobile Doctors not only prescribes medications, but works with several area pharmacies to provide free delivery of medications to our patients.
